Reviewed by someone who's worked the shift.

I'm a Licensed Vocational Nurse working in post-acute and skilled nursing care, and I'm finishing my BSN. I've done the 12-hour shifts, the doubles, the nights where your feet are screaming by hour 8 and you still have four hours of med passes left.

I started Nurse Gear Lab because I was tired of gear "reviews" written by people who've never set foot on a unit. When you're spending your own money on a stethoscope or shoes, you deserve to hear from someone who actually uses this stuff where it counts.

How I review

I evaluate gear on three things: does it survive real shifts, is it worth the money, and who should actually buy it — including who shouldn't. Specs are always verified against the manufacturer's own pages, and prices are date-stamped so you know exactly when I checked.

When I describe what something feels like to use on shift, I'm drawing on years of doing this work — the respiratory patients, the wound care, the endless walking. What I won't do is pretend I personally field-tested something I haven't. If a take is based on specs and aggregated user feedback rather than my own hands, I'll say so.

How the site makes money

Nurse Gear Lab uses affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer pays me a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never affects what I recommend — I'd rather lose a commission than tell a nurse to waste money. Full details on the disclosure page.
